Delayed Harvest and Large Stocked Trout Streams Fly Fishing Report- December 5, 2017

There are presently heavy chironomid midge hatches on some of our delayed harvest trout streams, especially Back Creek and Passage Creek. I see the greatest emergence of these flies at dusk and I like to fish one on one to the feeding trout. Effective flies are the Mr. Rapidan Midge Dry size 18, Griffiths Gnat size 18 and Bead Head Zebra Copper John size 18.
