The natural hellgrammites are becoming active in the deep pockets in the fast riffles. The bass are feeding heavily upon them. On the North Fork of the Shenandoah River access point #5 (Chapman's Landing) is producing good fishing. On the South Fork of the Shenandoah River access point #14 (Bealer's Ferry) is producing good fishing. A productive tactic is to wade into the river and fish a Murray's Heavy Black Hellgrammite size 4 or a Murray's Heavy Olive Hellgrammite size 4 upstream dead drift through these pockets.
