Smallmouth Bass Streams Fly Fishing Report- December 19, 2017

One of my favorite Winter smallmouth bass tactics is to go big fish hunting at the mouths of the small feeder creeks which enter the large smallmouth bass rivers. These creeks have a abundance of minnow-life which attracts the smallmouth bass. The North Fork of the Shenandoah River, the South Fork of the Shenandoah River and the James River all have many of these rich feeder creeks. Many natural hog suckers, darters and creek chubs live here. The three most effective flies are the Murray's Magnum Hog Sucker Streamer size 4, Murray's Magnum Creek Chub Streamer size 4 and Murray's Olive Madtom Sculpin Streamer size 4.
