Smallmouth Bass Streams Fly Fishing Report - December 4, 2024
Share
We have officially been skunked the last few times that we have tried the smallmouth bass fishing on the Shenandoah River. With the colder temperatures I don't expect this fishing will pick back up until next spring, therefore I will not be posting updates until the conditions improve. I do have some customers that like to take a boat out in the winter months and fish above the dams on the North and South Fork of the Shenandoah River in the deepest water just to be out. If that is the case, then I encourage you to use heavy flies like Murray's Tungsten Cone Head Marauder size 4, Skulpin Bunnys size 4, or Murray's Magnum Hog Sucker size 4.
Prime Time to fish for smallmouth bass is May to September. If you want to learn more about fly fishing for smallmouth bass, we have set up the dates for our Summer 2025 Fly Fishing Schools. Registration is open!!!
