Jeff Murray Smallmouth Bass Fly Fishing

Smallmouth Bass Streams Fly Fishing Report- June 5, 2017

Silver Outcast Streamer, Murray's Heavy Shiner Streamer and Murray's Dying Shiner Streamer

The gravel bars along the sides of the rivers hold great numbers of shiner minnows. Recently at dawn I saw many smallmouth bass running up on these two to three feet deep gravel bars chasing shiner minnows.

Access point #18 (Meem's Bottom) on the North Fork of the Shenandoah River is excellent for this fishing both at dawn and dusk. Access point #13 (Foster's Landing) on the South Fork of the Shenandoah River is excellent for this fishing both at dawn and dusk.

Good flies are the Silver Outcast Streamer size 4, Murray's Heavy Shiner Streamer size 6 and Murray's Dying Shiner Minnow size 6.
