Smallmouth Bass Streams Fly Fishing Report- March 19, 2018

Some of the back eddies in the smallmouth bass rivers are six feet deep and the bass are lethargic in the cold water. For this reason I believe I catch more bass by swimming my Murray's Tungsten Cone Head Marauders size 4 right along the streambottom. There is some very productive water fifty yards downstream from access point #3 (Burnshire Bridge) on the North Fork of the Shenandoah River. There is also productive water upstream along the East side of access point #11 (Seakford) on the South Fork of the Shenandoah River.
