Smallmouth Bass Streams Fly Fishing Report- March 26, 2018

The deep riffles are a great source for the bass at this time of the year. The large sculpin minnows and stonecats here attract some of the largest bass. I start at one side of the river and fish across stream as far as I can wade. Then I work my way downstream imparting a slow line hand stripping action to my streamers. The Murray's Sculpin Marauder size 4 and Murray's Stonecat Streamer size 4 are very productive. On the North Fork of the Shenandoah River the water downstream from access point #18 (Meem's Bottom) is excellent. On the South Fork of the Shenandoah River the water downstream from access point #14 (Bealers Ferry) is very productive.
