Smallmouth Bass Streams Fly Fishing Report- March 6, 2025
Share
This is the time of the year that anglers are taking a day to float the Shenandoah River, looking for the deep water below river crossing ledges and using heavy weighted flies. As we covered in our March newsletter, sinking tip lines and sinking leaders are recommended for this time of year. We are still on the early side of the bass season and the water temperature is still cold, but by using heavy weight flies and getting it right in front of their nose, we can tempt the bass to strike. Murray's Tungsten Cone Head Marauder size 4, Skulpin Bunny size 4 and Murray's Heavy Hellgrammite Black size 4 are some of the flies that we are recommending.
