Smallmouth Bass Streams Fly Fishing Report - November 27, 2024
Share
The water temperature is cooling and the smallmouth bass fishing is slow. At this time of the season I like to move into the mouths of the feeder streams that carry crayfish and sculpin minnows. By using a Spuddler size 6 and Murray's Olive Crayfish size 6 in these areas, I hope to land at least one more bass before the winter months. Both the North Fork and South Fork of the Shenandoah River are clear and fishable. The water levels are getting low, so wade carefully so that you do not spook the fish. The best time to try the smallmouth bass fishing at this time of year is in the early afternoon so that water temperature has time to warm a few degrees.
The fly shop will be closing at 1pm on 11/27, closed Thanksgiving Day, normal hours for Black Friday 9-4 and Saturday 9-3.
