The St. Croix Imperial 9 ft 7weight rod is a great bass rod for the money. It is a fast action fly rod that produces great accuracy and long cast with flies up to size 4. This rod is a joy to use. If anyone came into my fly shop and asked for a mid-price range smallmouth bass fly rod outfit to use on the Shenandoah River, I would recommend this outfit.
