I use this high floating dry fly in the choppy water on freestone trout streams early in the season. It effectively matches many of the early season mayflies. On the North Fork of the Shenandoah River I catch many smallmouth bass with this in size 10 when the brown drake mayflies hatch. On our smallmouth guide trips it is an excellent fly to fish along the shaded banks.
