At 7'2" and built for a 3-weight fly line, it combines the smooth, deep-flexing feel of fiberglass with the accuracy and recovery of modern E-glass construction. This makes it an excellent choice for native brook trout, small mountain streams, and delicate dry fly fishing.

I particularly like this rod when fishing tight streams where short, accurate casts are more important than distance. The fiberglass action loads smoothly with a short amount of fly line outside the tip and gives you excellent feedback throughout the cast. It is also a very enjoyable rod for anglers who appreciate the feel of fiberglass when fishing small dry flies and light tippets.

Recommended Fly Line

How to Order: Please select your Reeling Hand preference and, if you choose the Orvis Battenkill Disc II, your Orvis Reel Color.

Reeling Hand: Select the hand you use to crank the fly reel. The other hand will hold the rod. Choose Left or Right.

Orvis Reel Color: If you select the Orvis Battenkill Disc II, choose Black, Copper, or Olive. If no color is selected, Black will be sent.

If you plan to put the fly line on the reel yourself after your outfit arrives, select “No Line on My Reel.” We will ship the reel, fly line, and backing separately, without the line or backing being spooled onto the reel.
